Putting on contact lenses can be quite tricky, even to those who have been wearing contact lenses for a long time. Here are a few simple and helpful tips to help you put on your contact lenses properly:

The first thing that you need to remember is that you have to thoroughly wash your hands before putting on your contact lenses. This is very important so make sure that you keep this in mind. There are some eye doctors that would advise you to constantly apply the first contact lens to the same eye, which further prevents any possibility of confusing which lens goes with which eye. Shake your lens case gently for the contact lenses to come loose just in case they get stuck to the case. You should remember never to pick up your lens by using your finger as this might directly cause damage to your lens. Slide them out of the case and onto your hand then carefully rinse the lenses using the prescribed solution for your contact lenses. Make sure that your hands are completely dry before gently placing the contact lens on the tip of your finger. Pull up your upper eyelid with your index finger and pull down on your lower eyelid with your thumb simultaneously. Make sure that you are looking straight upwards or forwards then gently place the lens on your eye. Close your eyes gently for a while. Carefully roll your eyes in a complete circle to aid in the settling and proper positioning of the lens on your eye. If you feel that the lens is properly positioned, blink. Then look into a mirror closely to check that the lens is perfectly positioned in the center of the eye. When your contact lenses are put on properly, you would have no clarity problems with your vision and the lenses would feel comfortable in your eyes.
